Dr Joseph Tart was raised in a small town 35 miles south of Raleigh, called Dunn. He graduated from Triton High School in 1989. He attended Appalachian State University (ASU) from 1989 to 1993, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. From 1993 to 1997 he attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated with honors. He trained at St Joseph Memorial Hospital and Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX. He also trained at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque, NM before moving back home to North Carolina.
Dr Tart currently lives in North Raleigh with his beautiful wife, Veronica, a speech-language therapist, and young sons, Logan and Adam.
